The Wine Experience
Gamay
Wines
are a lot like people… they come with lots of languages
and styles, colors and personalities. There’s a fun
loving and colorful French friend out there – meet Gamay.
Gamay
is the grapey and easy to drink wine from Beaujolais which, while
technically part of Burgundy, really stands out on its own…
and is center stage for the Gamay grape.
You’ve
gotta love a wine that’s always described as “friendly,
lively, fresh, or energetic.” Sounds like someone
to hang with!
Now
the French don’t put the name Gamay on the label so hone
in on the region, Beaujolais, when you shop. When you do
you’ll come to love the absolute grapiness of the wine -
from the deep reddish purple color, to flavor like a grape just
plucked from the bunch.
This
is a good candidate for a house red. It’s a less pricey
alternative to pinot noir and about as versatile… just
simpler. And it’s ready to drink when you pull it
off the shelf.
Check
out Beaujolais and enjoy Gamay.
