One of the great joys of visiting a winery is discovering a new wine you really like that you can’t get anywhere else.  Often there are wines made that are only available at the winery.  These usually are smaller production varieties, older wines from their cellar or special limited bottling of wines the winemaker is really proud of. 

If you’ve had the pleasure of discovering some it’s now getting easier to send them back home.  Buying directly from wineries has gotten a big boost. 

The Supreme Court overturned some restrictive state laws and now more states are allowing direct shipment.  Couple this with the growth in online access and there’s more wine than ever at our fingertips. 

Now it’s lots of fun to wandering the retail shelves…but it’s pretty neat when a special bottle or two shows up from a recent winery visit. 

Buying directly from a winery, joining a club, spending time at your favorite retailer… all help build our wine experiences.
