Tasting Party
A wine tasting party is a great idea
for a fun evening!
You don't have to be a wine expert
or spend a lot of money to have some fun. It's simple -
Pick a wine theme, like
Merlot for example
Chose a price range or
keep it open-ended, up to you
Everyone brings a bottle
but they keep them secret by putting it in a paper bag with a rubber
band around the neck
Number them
Save the food for later
but put out some crackers and water as well as a bucket for, yes,
spitting (OK, call it expectorating, if you wanna.)
Now you're ready to go. Everybody gets
a glass; start with bottle number one and get tasting, give it a
score and keep some notes as you go.
Everyone tastes all the wines. Then
tally the scores and reveal the winners.
Finding a new favorite isn't guaranteed,
but having a good time is.
For added fun, include the Wine
Aroma Wheel and let folks see how their taste syncs up with
it.
Pop the cork™.
